In July 2014, Sophia attended the IMTA Convention in NYC with her Agency (Plaza 7 Talent) along with Main Line Models. “IMTA was the most awesome and exciting experience ever!” said Sophia. “ I met so many people from all over the world and everyone was so, so nice.” The competitions weren’t easy, but the staff made every event fun and rewarding. “Even the people I competed against were so nice and supportive. Everyone really helped each other,” she recalls.
Sophia’s most memorable moments at IMTA were: seeing her number 5577 pop up on the big screen and thereby realizing that she had won an award, walking the runway at the overview and receiving a medal for her monologue.
Indeed, Sophia won 1st Runner up for TV Real People in her category. Sophia was also given an honorable mention medal for her Monologue. Mr. Jimmy Carr of Plaza 7 Talent helped train Sophia for both of these competitions. Sophia is grateful to him for all of his relentless work and encouragement. A special thank you to Linda Wisch, Cassia Valuikas and Alison Hoover for all of their help in prepping and supporting Sophia at IMTA .
But the most important thing about IMTA for Sophia was that she had the honor and privilege of meeting Shirley Grant in person. A few weeks later, Sophia Zalipsky signed with Shirley Grant Management. Sophia looks forward to working closely and diligently for SGM, and she is grateful to them for taking her on.
