Film Story

Sophia was cast in the Children’s Ensemble for the theatrical Production of Mary Poppins at the Walnut Street Theatre in September 2014.  Formal rehearsals began in October with the show opening commencing on November 4th.  Sophia and the rest of the Children’s Ensemble were part of several charity events, publicity spots and seasonal celebrations to include ‘A Special Thank You’ to our nation’s troops and veterans, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade on the ABC network (went national), the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rittenhouse Square (various local network coverage), and the CBS “Joy of Sharing” spot which is involved with donating toys to local children in need (CBS local network coverage).  Sophia thoroughly enjoyed participating in these events, to include all of the long hours of rehearsals, backstage preparations and impromptu logistics involved with getting these events off to a great start through to a successful finish every time.  Over the course of the past few weeks, Sophia has learned a great deal about the intricacies, demands and expectations of the business; and, had a chance to form what are sure to be long-lasting friendships and professional relationships with members of the Children’s Ensemble, the Cast of Mary Poppins and with the entire production team at the Walnut Street Theatre.
